FAQ interim professionals

1. What is the added value of Planet Interim for me as an interim professional?

You can find all the benefits and added value of Planet Interim by clicking on this link.

2. I have an account. Why can't I log in or get the message that my password is incorrect?

You can log in in the Log In area at the top right of every page by clicking LOG IN in the orange block. The 'login e-mail address' also serves as your username. Also enter the password that was previously sent to you or that you have renewed yourself.

Please note that it is case-sensitive! The easiest way is to use 'copy/paste' to paste the sent password into the field and let your browser remember it. Please ensure that there are no (accidental) characters before or after the e-mail address or password, otherwise the system will reject the login attempt. You can also click here to request a new password. You will then enter your My Account environment (dashboard) where you manage the Account. If logging in with the new password still does not work, it could mean that previously saved data such as cookies and temporary files (containing for example old login information) conflict with the new data. It is advisable to delete the history, cookies and temporary files (e.g. via Internet options in Internet Explorer) and then try again with the new data. When you are logged in to those social media, you are also logged in to Planet Interim!

3. Why can't I respond to assignments and am I not redirected to external assignments?

This means that you are not (yet) logged in or that your account is not yet fully ready for use. Usually, your profile is then not yet filled out to a sufficient extent. Therefore, go to your My Account area, then top right and complete your own details with your work experience, education or other components. You can complete your profile very easily by importing your own CV (Word). We automatically process the information which you can then edit and save.

4. I have received a password; why do I receive the message that my registration is not complete?

Make sure you do not only fill in the first registration page but complete your profile as much as possible. To be found by employers, you need a Planet Interim profile that is at least 85% complete. With this profile you can also respond to assignments. The profile together with your explanation and hourly rate is then sent to employers as a PDF. At the top right in your My Account environment you can complete your profile. You can complete your profile very easily by importing your own CV in Word. We automatically process the information which you can then edit and save.

5. Can I register faster and keep my profile up to date?

Make sure you do not just fill in the first registration page but make your profile as complete as possible.

If you, as an interim professional, respond to an interim assignment or are found by an employer, the profile as known to Planet Interim will be shown to the employer. It is therefore important that the profile itself immediately gives employers a clear picture.
The CV Parsing Tool that was developed especially for Planet Interim helps you to register and update your profile on Planet Interim even faster and easier. You can import your own Word or PDF CV and have it automatically converted into a Planet Interim profile.

6. Why are URLs, my (company) name, e-mail addresses and phone numbers sometimes blocked?

Your company name, the URL to your website and e-mail address and telephone number are of course accepted and displayed in the appropriate posts. However, we do not want 'Jan-and-alleman' to be able to simply pluck interim professionals registered at Planet Interim off the internet. Employers must be registered with us before they can contact interim professionals. It is also important that only seriously interested employers contact interim professionals. Employers must therefore be logged in to see an interim professional's full profile, including contact details. Only then is it traceable who is contacting whom. This increases the quality of contact and limits privacy risks.

If all contact information is released immediately on the web in the public profiles of interim professionals, the model described above will not work. Therefore, URLs or phone numbers and your own (company) name in non-designated posts are blocked by the system. Examples include 'personal summary', your 'work experience' and the like.

7. Why are items like 'Education' and 'Work experience' important to get the profile 85% complete?

Planet Interim strives to be the best online interim platform for both interim professionals and employers. This means that only up-to-date, complete interim profiles are made available to (potential) employers.

The quality of a platform strongly depends on the quality and completeness of the profiles that are registered. A platform with better quality and more complete profiles will work to the advantage of registered interim professionals.

We like to invest in ease of use. Interim professionals can use an advanced tool to import data from (parts of) their own CV (in Word or PDF). Especially in the 'Work experience' section, this saves a lot of time!

8. Why can't I register my Interim or Management B.V. in the 'Work experience' section?

Your company name, the URL to your website and e-mail address and telephone number are of course accepted and displayed in the appropriate posts. However, we do not want 'Jan-en-alleman' to be able to simply pluck interim professionals registered at Planet Interim from the internet.

For example, in the work experience section, the intention is to indicate specifically where and for whom you have worked. Which positions and assignments you have actually filled. It is not the intention to present your own (interim) BV there as an employer nor to just post a link to a site/cv elsewhere on the web.
If you respond as an interim professional to an interim assignment or are found by an employer, the profile as known to Planet Interim will be shown to the employer. As a premium member, you can also submit your own CV as a PDF.

9. How do I change my password or e-mail address?

You log in and go to your own My Account environment in the top left to the light blue button 'Change email and password'.

10. Why should I convert my free basic membership to a premium membership?

As a basic member you will also be automatically matched with current interim assignments from more than 3,000 registered employers and more than 300 interim intermediaries. However, you can only respond to those assignments as a premium member. Our top search engine positions will also make it easier for employers to find your profile, provided it is at least 85% complete. You can also distinguish yourself by adding recommendations from current and previous employers to your profile. Members with one or more recommendations will be placed at the top of search results and will therefore stand out more!

11. Why doesn't the recommendation tool and/or the e-mail service for interim assignments work for me?

This is because your notifications are off or your account is not yet fully active. These services are only available for interim professionals with a fully active and complete profile (> 85%). The recommendation tool only works if you have first filled in your work experience per section. The reviews are thus always linked to concrete assignments or positions. This prevents too general and non-committal reviews appearing with the profile.

12. Why can't I respond to interim assignments?

Only interim professionals with a premium membership can respond directly to interim assignments with their response being sent immediately to the advertiser. Premium members are also immediately directed to assignments we have inventoried for them with third parties.

Members with a free basic membership cannot respond to assignments.

13. Why can't (potential) Employers see my full CV free of charge?

It is important that only seriously interested employers can contact registered interim professionals. It must also be traceable who contacts whom. Furthermore, for privacy reasons, it is important that interim profiles cannot be found directly on the web with name and contact details.

Employers must be logged in themselves to see an interim professional's full profile, including contact details.

Employers can, however, make a very targeted selection via variables such as sector experience, field and function group, work experience, education, recommendation scores, specialist skills and so on.

14. Who has access to my registered data and what can be found of me on the internet?

For privacy reasons, profiles of registered interim professionals can only be found on the site without names and contact details.

Based on these profiles, potential employers can search for interim professionals on Planet Interim easily and free of charge and then contact them if necessary. Should you, against our instructions, display data in the non appropriate fields, the consequences are at your own risk.

Therefore, please always check the profile you have created during your registration and be aware of what information you show on the Internet.

Employers must log in to send a contact request to interim professionals. Only seriously interested employers will thus be able to contact interim professionals and vice versa. It is then always traceable who is contacting whom.

When an interim professional decides to respond via Planet Interim to an interim assignment posted directly on this site, the full profile, including contact details, will be sent to the advertiser/client. See here for more detailed information on the privacy policy.

15. Some assignments are confidential. How can I make my profile less recognisable?

For various reasons, an interim professional may decide to make his or her profile less recognisable. For example, because interim assignments are confidential in connection with reorganisations to be carried out.

In that case, it is advisable not to use the company names of relevant employers but to describe them. Instead of ABN AMRO Bank N.V., for example, "Large Dutch retail bank". In addition, names of departments or functions can be described in a different way than is known internally or by connoisseurs.

16. I have a premium membership. Why am I not receiving interim assignments via email notification?

Planet Interim is a marketplace that connects supply and demand. It can of course happen that there is (temporarily) less demand for interim professionals with your profile. Unfortunately we have no influence on this. Do not set your notifications too sharply and make sure your profile is as complete as possible to optimise your chances of finding a relevant assignment.

17. Why can't I correspond about assignments on Planet Interim by phone or email?

Planet Interim is an independent interim platform used by interim professionals, employers and intermediaries. Planet Interim does not judge any match but facilitates all parties in the interim market. To get in touch with the relevant employer or intermediary, you must first view the assignment and, if interested, register or log on to Planet Interim so that you can then respond to the assignments.

As an employer, Planet Interim offers the possibility to invite or reject interim professionals and interim professionals can apply or decline any invitations. All correspondence can be provided with a reason or explanation. Neat standardised and personalised e-mail notifications, in Dutch or English, further support the communication between employer and interim professional.

18. How does the CV Import Tool work?

We like to invest in ease of use. You can easily generate and complete your Planet Interim profile by importing your own CV (Word). We automatically process the information which you can then edit and save. You will have to complete any missing data yourself.

19. My CV cannot be imported or the parsing results are unusable. What now?

You can easily generate and complete your Planet Interim profile by importing your own CV. We automatically process the information which you can then edit and save. Here it is important that your CV does not consist of various columns and tables. The CV parser cannot keep information from various columns apart. So provide a simple structure, preferably in Word format. Other formats such as rtf, txt or PDF are possible but lead to inferior results.

Furthermore, make sure that each work experience, position or assignment has its own clear structure that is applied consistently. For example on line 1 the date from - to and organisation name, on line 2 the job name on line 3 the explanation of the job or assignment.
In conclusion, do not provide references in a CV to be processed automatically. Apart from the fact that you should not share names and contact details with third parties, the CV Parser may confuse the referees or references with your own work experience. On the other hand, make sure that you request separate Planet Interim recommendations from your employers via My Account to improve your ranking in the search results and distinguish yourself from other interim professionals.

20. How current are the assignments on Planet Interim?

Especially in interim, speed is of the essence. That is why three times a day Planet Interim makes an inventory of current interim assignments at more than 300 (!) interim recruitment agencies, MSP's and other organisations. Based on advanced technology, these assignments are recognised, uniformly coded, made comparable and searchable and sent via notifications to affiliated members.
In addition, there is of course the offer of the more than 2,500 affiliated employers who post their assignments directly on Planet Interim (they are always at the top of the search results and they get more space there). These placed assignments are displayed on the site for a maximum of one week, unless the period is extended by the employer itself.
Assignments listed with third parties are automatically removed after 3 days. This means that even if an interim assignment may still be online on a source site, we will no longer show it anyway.

21. Is Planet Interim also for freelancers?

Yes. Planet Interim offers professionals from all fields and job groups the opportunity to profile themselves. There is in itself no difference (legal) between interim, Z(Z)P and freelance. They are terms for the same thing, with freelance often being used for shorter projects that are not necessarily carried out 'in-house' at the employer. That is peculiar to the professional field and job group in which someone is active. An independent financial professional, such as a controller, will usually spend a few months 'in house' and so will a Product or Brand Manager. Copywriters and journalists, for instance, again will not.
Planet Interim is a reflection of the entire interim market. So the fact that there are few or very many assignments in an area is not a choice of Planet Interim but a result of the market situation.

22. I am stuck and cannot proceed with my registration, now what?

There could be many reasons for this. Check whether you are still logged in or the session is still active. If you needed to do something else for a while during your registration, you may be out of the 'session' in the meantime. It could also be that your computer is busy updating other applications and overloading its working memory. In that case, close some applications to finish the registration. Also, check for any error messages that may be at an input field that will prevent your registration from continuing until this 'error' is fixed.

23. How do I pause or stop my account?

To do this, log in and go to Pause or Stop My Account. In the block at the top left with your name is the option to temporarily or permanently stop your account.

Please note:
Emails with cancellations will not be accepted. Keeping a personal account up to date or cancelling it is the user's responsibility. Via email, we cannot be sure that the person who says they want to cancel the account is actually the account owner.

24. How do I check whether my response has reached the employer?

When responses go through our platform, we send confirmation of the response to our members and also reminders to employers to complete the response in a timely and proper manner.

You will always receive a notification on your screen and/or an e-mail from Planet Interim confirming that your response has been sent and received. If you do not receive this e-mail, please check your registered e-mail address and/or your internet connection. You can also (log in and) go to your My Account environment. Through this dashboard, you can manage all data and actions within your account.

Please note:

In many cases, our advertising employers prefer us to submit candidates to the assignment on their own site itself, so you end up applying directly to them. This keeps their process intact. In that case, contact the advertising party for an update on the continuation of their process. We have to deal with this as a platform if we want to be able to offer the most complete range of assignments possible.

As a service, we also map relevant, external assignments from more than 300 intermediaries and MSPs for our members, so with our help you automatically have an excellent tracking of the market. We then match these external assignments with our members' preferences. Therefore, if you have responded to them, you may also have to contact the party you eventually responded to.

25. Do I owe Planet Interim a fee or commission in the case of a match?

In order to be able to maintain and improve Planet Interim, we sometimes ask member interim professionals to contribute to our costs. Planet Interim has two types of membership for this purpose:

1. Basic membership on a no cure-no pay basis.

A basic membership allows interim professionals to use certain facilities of Planet Interim free of charge. Only if an interim professional with basic membership obtains an assignment via Planet Interim, the interim professional owes Planet Interim a contribution to the costs.

Read more about the revenue model in the General user agreement, article 12

2. The premium membership

With a premium membership, professionals pay Planet Interim no fee even in case of a match. In addition, premium members get direct access to all assignments and can respond to assignments immediately. Basic members can be found and contacted but cannot respond to assignments themselves.

Read more about the benefits of premium membership

26. What is Planet Interim's revenue model?

The revenue model of Planet Interim consists of basic memberships with a no cure-no pay component, see article 12 of the general user agreement, and paid premium subscriptions, see premium benefits, for affiliated professionals.

There are also company partnerships with organisations that post larger numbers of assignments on Planet Interim, for example.
